So I don't usually go on a rant but I recently had gone home over the weekend from school and me and my mother went to bjs. This was the first time in three weeks that I had gone grocery shopping and since my mum was gonna buy I couldn't say no! Anywho! I started to look at the back of food labels, looking for corn! Any base of corn, high fructose corn syrup, corn biproduct, corn meal ect. What I found was astonishing. I never noticed or knew that almost all my foods had some form of corn in it. I was disgusted. I even told my mum, which we talked about the food system for over 15 minutes about it and she actually was even more surprised. We now have been looking at everything! It disgusts me how many companies within a corporation get away with so much!

Today while I was home watching netflix like so many college students are inclined to, I stumbled across Russell Brand's comedy special "Messiah Complex". Although it may not be directly about food or race, I was surprised when I found that a large amount of the issues that we have been talking about in class were addressed in this comedy special. Although i would not recommend Brand's comedy for everyone (he curses a lot and makes some pretty edgy comments) I would recommend that if you are interested you should check it out next time your watching Netflix.
