Day 8

So today was an interesting day in terms of food! I was lucky and honored to join my professor along with two other panelists and a bunch of my classmates to talk about the cost of food on the food industry. I highlighted the truth and issue on how chocolate is harvested and made. Many corporations, for example Hershey, support and get their chocolate from exploited children slave laborers. They usually are worked as young as the age of 7 and are forced to leave their homes, many never getting the chance to go back so that Americans can indulge in chocolate sweets! Free trade however is definitely an alternative! I was just proud to make the public aware
